Rowdy Brass Band

Returning from a 4-day multi-stop tour in Denver, Colorado Springs, and ending as featured guests at the 2025 Canon City Music Festival, the Rowdy Brass Band will end their 2024-2025 season with a special full-length performance featuring custom arrangements of hit songs from artist and bands including No Doubt, Brittney Spears, Jason Derulo, Trombone Shorty, Meute, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Broken Brass, Chicago, Youngblood Brass Band, and others. The newly formed Mesa Brass Band will also present a few selections of their own.

About the band - The Rowdy Brass Band is an elite CMU “ambassador” ensemble designed to train a 21st Century musician and meet the demand for high quality entertainment both on and off campus. This continuously-strengthening 15-member ensemble performs high-powered custom covers and arrangements in pop, rock, jazz, latin, ceremonial, fanfare, street, and other styles of music in auditoriums, downtown festivals, and breweries throughout Colorado. The band performs all music by memory and is highly mobile - to set-up quickly and perform anywhere! The Rowdy Brass Band consists of CMU’s best (auditioned) brass, saxophone, electronic, and percussion student musicians who get real-world professional experience, including a large annual scholarship. CMU Director of Bands, Dr. Jonathan Hinkle leads, arranges music for, and also performs with the Rowdy Brass Band.
